Ms. Jamie - Teacher and Owner
Hi! My name is Jamie Hawk and I’m so glad you are checking out Stepping Stones Child Care!
A little about me:
My family and I moved to Wichita in January of 2015 from Nashville, Tennessee. I am a certified teacher and have a Bachelors degree in Special Education from Middle Tennessee State University. I taught in elementary schools for six years before moving to Kansas. I have two children, Bryce and Lucas. Bryce is thirteen and just started 8th grade. Lucas is eleven and just started 6th grade! I love being their mommy more than anything in this world. Back in 2013 I stopped working in the school system to enjoy some time raising my boys at home. It went by so fast, and now they are both in school full time! I started reflecting on my time as a stay at home mom… it has been SO rewarding, and while I wouldn’t change it for anything, it was tough!!
With that being said, I started thinking about what I could do with my time to continue my love for teaching and children, while also helping out my fellow moms who just need a break! After a lot of prayer and thought I decided to start up my own part time child care program. This gives me the opportunity to do what I love and serve other moms at the same time, while also allowing myself the flexibility to work around my children’s schedule.
I hope you will allow me the opportunity to give you a break to enjoy some mommy time, while I get the chance to love and teach your child!!

Ms. Chris - Assistant Teacher
Ms. Chris, also known to me as "mom" starting helping two days a week in 2018. She is currently helping me four days a week. Having two teacher's allows me to accommodate a few extra children, while also allowing me to work with the kids who are working more towards preschool skills. Ms. Chris is great with the kiddos and previously was a joint owner in her own in home daycare years ago. My kids love their Nana so much and she treats all kids like her own. She is also CPR certified and meets all the requirements of the state.
